Steinbrenner Orchestra

Welcome!

Steinbrenner High School houses three different orchestras:

Concert Orchestra

Orchestra 1, This Orchestra is where most incoming freshman are placed. This is the next step from middle school. We play music in the Florida standard of repertoire in the DS & CS range. Students will learn how to shift to other positions, start vibrato, continue to work on their string pedagogy, and take on more independence in instruction.

Symphonic Orchestra

Steinbrenner's largest orchestra, where most students go after Concert. This orchestra includes players of many different backgrounds and levels of musical ability, but the most important thing is that everyone works and plays together. This orchestra plays mostly Florida standard of repertoire of CS & BS repertoire.

Chamber Orchestra

Steinbrenner’s audition orchestra is filled with students who devote time and precision to the music they are executing. This orchestra is the only one with an audition requirement, and it is the smallest group. However, anyone can audition - including incoming freshman. Every year, this orchestra becomes an especially close-knit community. This orchestra plays mostly BS & AS literature on the Florida standard literature list as well as many other great works not listed on the FOA (Florida Orchestra Association) list.
